Ron Avenida, Chief Operating Officer at Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell, has nearly two decades of experience leading midsize and Am Law 100 firms, where he has achieved exceptional results in promoting culture, leveraging technology, enhancing recruiting, and increasing profitability. He serves on the Saint Mary’s College Graduate Business Alumni Council and the Cal Poly Center for Leadership – Alumni Mentoring Program.
Kara M. Brostron, CLM, is Director of Operations at Lashly & Baer where she oversees human resources, benefits, insurance, continuing education, recruiting, training, information technology, marketing, and facilities. In 2020, she was honored by Missouri Lawyers Weekly as a Legal Unsung Hero. Her foresight in implementing the firm’s paperless office and remote desktop system has been invaluable. Kara is an active Association of Legal Administrators – Gateway Chapter member and co-chair of the Communications/Website and Compensation & Benefits teams. She is Chair of ALA’s Product and Service Review Committee.
Cheryl Coutchie is the Chief Operating Officer at Foster Swift Collins & Smith, where she is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the day-to-day operations at the firm. Coutchie has nearly 30 years of experience in the legal industry, previously serving as Director of Human Resources and Director of Pricing & Process Improvement for a large Michigan law firm.
Ari Kaplan, an attorney and legal industry analyst, is an inaugural Fastcase 50 honoree, a College of Law Practice Management fellow, and a finalist for ILTA’s Thought Leader of the Year award.
